Yes, it's happened again. My basement is under water. Well, now it's under towels, but you get the point.
(look for the water line on the carpet)
I was up late last night dealing with the mess of my basement. Kelly got home and noticed a big puddle in the laundry/furnace room. We frantically mopped it up and thought everything was over and done with. I went to bed and kept hearing water noises. Not sure how to describe said noises, but they were water noises nonetheless. So I roll out of bed and check on the laundry/furnace room. Yep, you guess it. It's covered with water.
Since it was well after midnight at this point, I decide my landlord won't be calling back soon so I should do something about the problem. I trekked out in the cold backyard, and found that the automatic sprinklers were still running. I then found the control box and shut them off. After mopping up the second mess, I went to bed. Luckily I woke up the next morning and there was no new water.
Our maintenance guy should be here soon to try and figure out how to fix everything.

UPDATE: I was right, those darn sprinklers were flooding the house. Apparently the pipe underneath the front porch was totally busted. Todd the Maintenance Man should be back later this week to fix it.
Luckily we still had those carpet fans on hand since our last aquatic adventure.

kitchen decor
Two posts in one day. Amazing, I know, considering my blog history lately.
Mom and I have been busy all day decorating the kitchen. Check out the spread above the cabinets:
We also bought a cute plate rack to put above the bay window, and the star for the wall by the stove. LOVE IT!
Now we're working on the curtains in both the kitchen and living room. Stay tuned!

color
We finally finished the accent wall in my bedroom. This isn't the best shot (it came from a cell phone camera) but you get the idea.
Now, I'm trying to figure out what to do with the other walls. All the walls have those wood pieces coming down the middle (like the ones I painted white on my blue wall). Should I leave them all the same color? Or maybe paint them blue? I need ideas here folks.

Two rooms down ...
... three bedrooms, two hallways, two bathrooms and a kitchen to go. Man, when I put it that way I feel like we'll never finish painting. Here's a pic of the living room. We are considering painting one wall a color to match my couch pillows, and we need some window coverings, but other than that I think it looks great. The color totally brightened up the room.
Thanks for all your tips on kitchen options. I think we're leaning toward an orange.
Go big or go home, right?

painting
We started painting the main areas on Sunday. We got rid of the gloomy gray of the living room and brightened it up with an alabaster ceiling and a creamy wall color. Our friends are amazing and helped tape everything and even paint (that last pic is our friend Katie from the ward).
We painted the ceilings in the living room, upstairs hallway and basement. Then we did the wall color in the living room. I'm beat, and we've only completely finished one room (other than touch ups).
Anyone want to come help paint?

moving day
Sorry for the delay, but we don't have the Internet at our new house yet. We got all of our stuff out of the old house, and even got everything out. Clint was a great helper, he even carried my purses and girly hats.
We even got everything unpacked Saturday night (for the most part).

color S.O.S.
I'm puzzled on what to do with our kitchen. We need to paint the wall, but I have no idea what to do. We've already picked a neutral to go in the living room and hallways, but we want color in the kitchen.
Problem is, this is on the floor:
The kitchen then goes into a dining room area, so it's half linoleum and half carpet. We want the whole room to be the same color.
Any ideas?

colors of the wind
So I'm in the middle of the move, and I'm inspired to do new things with my room. I want a new duvet cover with softer tones. The blaring red just won't do it for me anymore.
I'm thinking I want this blue for the accent wall in my room.
Whaddya think?

sold!
WE GOT IT!
OK we didn't really buy it, but we are the newest renters of this fine home. It's only a block from the chapel, so it will be nice to walk to church. And it's even closer to downtown than my current house, which is AWESOME. Even better is my friend Heather is moving in with us, so it will be the three of us (remember, I still live with Kelly).
The next few days will be crazy, we've only got a little bit of time to move, but WE DID IT!

house hunter
We have to move out next month. And we haven't found a new place to live.
My roomie and I have been scanning the online classifieds. I found this gem, and hope we can get it. It's real close to our ward and still in our cute little neighborhood.

Here's the ad:
